Dr. Brian O. Hemphill, president of Radford University, was selected as the ninth president of Old Dominion Univeristy in February 2021 to replace John R. Broderick effective July 1, 2021. Dr Hemphill, who served as president at Radford since 2016, is the first African American president of Old Dominion University.
